formal training was received at Julian Ashton Art School, Sydney, in 1973/4. although a career in art was not pursued, various artforms have been an integral part of my of my life.
took up folk art in the late 1980's and sold at local weekend outdoor markets until 1997, whilst still in the workforce.
joined Toukley & Districts Art Society in Feb, 2009. retired in 2013; from retirement, served on the committee of Toukley & Districts Art Society, in various roles, until 2023.
realistic artworks in graphite and charcoal by Armin Mersmann attracted my attention in 2000 and have been working in this medium since then.
started working with clay, late 2017; small sculpture and agateware/neriage.
Through the use of charcoal, graphite and, occasionally, pastel, coloured pencil and paint, studies of what I see are created.
Discovery of form, shape and tone through the use of a minimal range of materials drives my art practice. |
