ARTIST BIO

Alison has developed her style and technique by experimenting, studying and participating in workshops with successful artists, among them John Wilson at his studio in the Blue Mountains, and Warwick Fuller in the beautiful Kanimbla Valley, noting their methods and experimenting along her own lines with media and technique. A love of family, this country and nature inspire her to capture people and places in art form. She has been selected as an exhibiting finalist in the Lethbridge Landscape Prize 2021 and 2022 and sold works. She has also beein an exhibiting finalist Rotary Art Spectacular in Brisbane since 2013, and has had success with multiple sales at this event and also at Downlands Art Exhibition Toowoomba. She has also been accepted as a finalist at the Camberwell Rotary Art Show Melbourne.
Experienced in the use of graphite, pen, coloured pencils, acrylics, pastel and oils, her earliest works were commissions to draw or paint historic buildings and other subjects. More recently her preference is to use oils or pastels to produce landscapes, seascapes and beach scenes, with an interest in figure studies and fine pen detail work. Her works have been awarded prizes at numerous regional shows. She has participated in group exhibitions when time allowed, and her work has been acquired by Shire Councils, City Councils and Regional Government Departments as well as by private collectors nationally.
